Graham, Harvey, The Story of Surgery; 1939. Published by Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc. in New York, light flesh colored canvas hardback, plain on front and back with the caduceus symbol recessed faintly in the upper center of the front cover, title is on top of spine in gold with black line horizontally down the rest of the spine; 17cm (W) x 23.7cm (L) x 4.8cm (D), 425p. Modifications include a black square painted on the bottom of the spine with the call number on a white paper square adhered on top of the rectangle. A library out card in on the inside back cover, "Property of K.C.O.S. Library" is stamped on three of four sides of book, Memorial Library sticker is adhered to the inside front cover presented by " Miss Ruth Storey" stamped on the sticker, " [Ruth Storey] 1939 is written on the top of the inside front cover, " Presented to K.CO.S. Library by Ruth Story-" is written in cursive below. Damage includes acid burning on the pages throughout, particularly on edges, spine is bent at the bottom with four small tears, spine is bent at the top with frays, all corners are dented and frayed, scratch marks cover the front and back cover, particularly in the center and water marks can be seen on the bottom of the front and back cover as a lighter shade of cover creeping upwards. |
