Morris Thompson and Clark Kerr Correspondence; 1968-1971. Six typed letters, first is to Thompson from Kerr regarding the Carnegie Commission of Higher Education report that recommended osteopathic colleges be converted to schools of medicine where possible, second is to Kerr from Thompson requesting rationale for Carnegie Commission report recommendation for osteopathic colleges, third letter is to Kerr from Thompson requesting the rationale again, fourth letter is to Kerr from Thompson regarding wanting to discuss the place of osteopathic colleges in health manpower of the nation, letter to Thompson from Kerr regarding sending a brochure with aims and activities of the Carnegie Commission, last letter is to Kerr from Thompson regarding the AOA and AACOM response to the report and their recommendations to the Commission regarding studying the California merger, removing the recommendation for college conversion from the report and other suggested edits; 21.5 cm (w) x 27.8 cm (h), 12 pages. Paper yellowed, acid burn around the edges, paper clip indention and rust stain in upper left corner. |
