Ilgenfritz Scrapbook; ca. 1909. Scrapbook made by Dr. Ilgenfritz containing newspaper clippings, scrapbook is a brown hardcover, cover has an etched border outside of another border that appears to be grape vines wrapped with a ribbon in a double helix pattern, etched in the center are grass and floweres behind three images of children elevated above the cover with gold designed borders around them, spine is heavily designed with florals and a vase as well a curtain motif and decorative lines at the top and bottom, back has five indented borders and a geometric floral pattern in the center; 29 cm (w) x 32 cm (h) x 2.4 cm (d) (with spine and binding out), 26.5 cm (w) x 32 cm (h) x 4.5 cm (d) (with spine and bindnig in place). Poor condition, scrapbook is fragile, front cover is detached from the spine and binding, binding is detached from the pages, spine is detached from the binding, a large number of pages appear to be missing, some yellowing, edgse and corners of covers and pages worn, some of the covers covering is worn off around the edges and on the front and back as well as the spine, some of the covering of the cover is flaking off, some staining on the front cover, pink staining on the inside of the spine and at the top and bottom of the binding, original catalog sticker attached to the outside of the spine reading "B84 B84", sticker attached in the top right corner of the cover reading "Newspaper Clippings ??", scrapbook sheds paper particles and pieces when moved.
