Cashier's Check through the Security Loan & Trust Co on a Marquardt Savings Bank check on tan paper, check is from the Dr. S.S. Still College and Infirmary of Osteopathy to H.E. Deemer for $50, check is signed by A.B. Shaw secretary and treasurer of the school, the College name is stamped above the treasurer's signature in green, also stamped in green is the date and "FEB 6 1901" up the right side as well as the number two in a circle, stamped in purple is "PAID / FEB 6 - 1901 / Security Loan & Trust Co. / Des Moines, Iowa.", the original bank name is crossed out with "Security Loan & Trust Co.," stamped above it in pink, printed in the center of the page is an image in orange made up of several circles with a cameo image in the center which serves as a two cent stamp and reads "DOCUMENTARY / 2 / STAMP" on both of the small circles which flank the large center circle that reads "UNITED STATES / 2 / INTERNAL REVENUE / 2", back is signed by H.E. Deemer and B.P. Kirk, stamped in purple is "PAY TO THE / DES MOINES NATIONAL BANK, / OR ORDER, / G.S. GILBERTSON, / Treasurer of State.", stamped in black is "DES MOINES / NATIONAL BANK / PAID"; 20.8 cm (w) x 8.2 cm (h). Discoloration and yellowing, brown stain on right side likely from water damage, darker brown stains within the larger stain, black and brown spots and marks, hole right of center, two vertical creases from folding, both left corners bent, edges and corners worn, right side and edge of the check waves, some tearing in the right and bottom edges, pink and purple stains on the front.
